Our June balance was $8,826.44. Deposits included 4 checks for $200.00 from the Perry County News, totaling $800.00; refund from Network Solutions, $35.00. Our September balance is $9,092.08.
Since we currently have no treasurer, nominations for that position were requested. Sandy Henning was nominated by Mary Ann Wheatley; Kathy Pohl seconded the nomination. Sandy accepted the nomination and was elected by acclamation. An auction item for the Taste of Perry County was discussed. Francie Wagner offered to donate a silver candleholder and it was agreed that we would purchase a candle to donate along with it. The Fall Tour banner is on our website, with details on the calendar. We will again photograph Witches Walk and save the pictures on disk. We will also again be posting election results on our website. Purchase of an ad in the Chamber calendar was discussed. A motion was made by Mary Ann Wheatley, seconded by Kathy Pohl, to purchase a 1/4-page ad announcing our new web address. Motion carried. Francie Wagner will design the ad. Investment of a portion of our funds in a CD was discussed. A motion was made by Mary Ann Wheatley, seconded by Joan Goble, to invest $5,000.00 at the best available rate. Motion carried.
We received no response from the Alabama school that purchased our former web address. Therefore, we have permanently changed our address to "perrycountyin.org". The camera and laptop are available at the Chamber office to check out for events. We will capture using the laptop and Snappy, save on disk, and send pictures to PSCI via email as attachments. We will keep a supply of extra 9 volt batteries. The bi-monthly meeting schedule was discussed and all agreed it was working well.
Meeting was adjourned.
