MINUTES OF A REGULAR MEETING OF
ACCESS PERRY COUNTY

Access Perry County Board Meeting
November 19, 1998, 7:000 PM
Tell City Junior High

The meeting was called to order by President Francie Wagner. Those present were: Francie Wagner, Kathy Gerber, Randy Fischer, Judy Howe, Ron Filkins, Dick Haywood, Mary Ann Wheatley, and Sandy Henning.  A motion to adopt the agenda was made by Kathy Gerber and seconded by Randy Fischer. Motion carried. Randy Fischer made a motion to accept the October minutes with no additions or changes.  Motion was seconded by Kathy Gerber; motion carried.

A deposit of $3750.00, the final installment of our grant, was deposited in October, increasing the November balance to $15,562.67.  The following claims have been presented for payment:  PSCI November bill $200.00,
billboard fee $157.50.  Randy made a motion to pay these claims; Ron Filkins seconded.  Motion carried.  This will leave a balance of $15,250.17.

Francie reported that Mary Sampson at PSCI is now responsible for maintenance of our website.  Health, mall, calendar, and clubs can now be updated more readily.   Dick Haywood reported on research into purchasing
a lap top and/or video camera.  Prices range from $1700 to 2400 for a lap top; $600 to $800 for a handheld video camera.  Total cost would depend on how it would be used, as well as additional cost for added features such as steady image ($100) or capture card for lap top.  Loaning equipment to organizations to record events was discussed, as well as renting or or leasing equipment, rather than purchasing, to retain state-of-the-art equipment.

Guests at the meeting were Dave Buse and Greg Johnson from PSCI.  They will schedule training for FrontPage software if we desire.  Length and number of training sessions will depend on how much in-depth training we
feel we need.  It was noted that our contract for site maintenance expired in September.  Contract terms were $200.00 plus hourly maintenance fee, averaged at 5 hours per month.  Changes we make using password are free
of charge; FrontPage software may not be needed.  PSCI reported that data for total hours last year have been lost.  To compensate, PSCI will not charge us the one-half fee ($157.50) for the last billboard.  Kathy Gerber made a motion to renew the maintenance contract with PSCI on the above terms; Dick Haywood seconded.  Motion carried.  It was agreed that terms may be reviewed quarterly or semi-annually and changes made if needed.

Ron Filkins presented a proposal for sponsorship of Access Perry County by the Perry County News for 1999.  The News pledges an amount equal to the monthly PSCI billing of $200, to be paid in advance, on either a monthly or quarterly basis.  For its sponsorship, the News seeks no recognition of any kind.  A motion was made by Mary Ann Wheatley, seconded by Sandy Henning, to accept the sponsorship proposal by the Perry County News.  Motion carried.

There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned. Next meeting:   December 17, 1998, 7:00 pm, at Tell City Junior High.

Submitted by Judy Howe, Secretary.
