MINUTES OF A REGULAR MEETING OF
ACCESS PERRY COUNTY

For May, 1998

A pot luck dinner was enjoyed by everyone prior to the meeting being called to order by President Francie Wagner.

Present were:

The agenda was changed to include Randy Fischer as a new member to be voted in.  The corrected agenda was approved with a motion from Kathy Gerber, a second from John Spencer, and the motion carried.

Francie Wagner read the April minutes.  John Spencer made to a motion to approve them, Johan Goble seconded, motion carried.

Francie Wagner, acting treasurer, reported a balance of $10,024.28 after two claims were approved.  Dale Sprinkle motioned to pay the PSCI May bill for $202.00 and the Perry County News for $5.30, Judy Howe seconded, motion carried.

New board members Mary Ann Wheatley representing business at large, Ron Filkins representing media, Sandy Henning representing the Chamber of Commerce, and Randy Fischer replacing the vacated Cannelton Library position were voted on.  John Spencer made the motion to approve their memberships, Kathy Gerber seconded, motion carried.  Since Dick Haywood, representing Tell City Government was not present there was no vote taken on his membership.

The Perry County Convention and Visitors Bureau reappointed Kathy Gerber to the  APC Board.  Troy government has not responded to their letter about an appointment.  Dale Sprinkle will call Gary Palmer about it.

Francie Wagner updated a contact list of new members, obtaining addresses, e-mails, and phone numbers.

John Spencer reported 1000 business cards with our logo, address, and PSCI's partnership information could be printed for $30.00.  PSCI sent the logo file to John.  Card holders would also be needed to set at businesses with heavy traffic around the county.  Randy Fischer motioned we spent $50.00 for the cards and card holders, Mary Ann Wheatley seconded, motion carried.

Francie Wagner has not heard from Brad Dykes about the Glory Bees Preschool link.  Mary Ann will speak to Brad about it.

Perry County Hospital's site will be linked to ours on the health mall and on the calendar.  Mary Ann Wheatley is doing the hospital's site.

Gary Palmer was not present to report on the new APC flyer he is working on.

Francie Wagner reported that the clubs, mall, health, and calendar are in database format and are accessible with a password.  Any member can have the password when they update those areas on the site, currently being updated by Francie Wagner.

The site received 3 feedbacks.  1 requesting information about the Schweizer Fest, one requesting local news be added to the site, and one from a lady with a diary about John Francis Tobin who was originally from Cannelton.   Kathy commented that she thought several of the feedback responses might have been intended for the CVB site, there is no way to tell for sure.  Since both sites are interwoven, people could respond to either the APC feedback, or the CVB questionnaire.   It was decided that all responses would be carbon copied to each organization for now.

Front Page 98 software was discussed.  PSCI has given us the go ahead and will provide training.  This software will allow us to do site construction on the front page and to add additional pages if we choose to.  The database items on the site do not require FrontPage to update or change.  Ron Filkins made a motion to purchase the software for $100.00 with the stipulation that no piracy laws be broken when using it, Sandy Henning seconded, motion carried.  The software can run from a CD from any computer as long as it is not loaded on that computer, only the files would be on the computer.

A digital camera was discussed, no action was taken.

Meeting was adjourned at 8:50pm
