MINUTES OF A REGULAR MEETING OF
|
Below you will find the Minutes for the June 18, 1998 ACP Meeting held at the home of Jan and Dale Sprinkle at 6:00 pm
A pot luck dinner was enjoyed by everyone prior to the meeting being called to order by President Francie Wagner.
Present were:
- Francie Wagner
- Kathy Gerber
- Dick Haywood
- Dale Sprinkle
- Randy Fischer
- Sandy Henning
- Ron Filkins
The agenda was changed to include one additional bill. The corerected agenda was approved with a motion from Randy Fischer and a second from Sandy Henning.
The minutes were corrected. Perry County Hospital will link to our "health segment", not the business mall. "Francie is currently updating our site." was added in the next paragraph, and the minutes were submitted by Kathy Pohl Gerber, appointed "secretary" not treasureer. Dale Sprinkle motioned to approve the minutes as corrected, Randy Fischer seconded the motion.
Francie reported a beginning balance of $10,024.28. Randy Fischer motioned to pay two claims, the June bill from PSCI for $200.00 and another PSCI bill for $157.50 for billboards. Sandy seconded the motion. This leaves a balance of $9666.78
Kathy Gerber motioned to elect Richard Haywood to our board as the representative of Tell City Government. Randy Fischer seconded the motion. Dale Sprinkle will contact Troy Government for an appointment or reappointment to our board.
Randy Fischer motioned the following slate of officers:
- Francie Wagner - President
- Kathy Pohl Gerber - Vice President
- Judy Howe - Secretary
- John Spencer - Treasurer
Randy Fischer seconded the motion.
Kathy Gerber motioned to amend the by-laws to include another board member representing local media. Dick Haywood seconded the motion. There was discussion about changing the number need for a quorum, no changes were made. However, we will address this again later when more board members are present.
Lauren Gottleib requested a link to a page about the Schweizer Fest Musical. Randy Fischer motioned to allow the link, Sandy Henning Sseconded the motion.
The suggestion was made to sell Banner or Button Ads for our site to generate revenue for Access Perry County and to create interest and awareness of our site. The banner ads be 375 x 50 pixels and sell for about $200-$300 per page per month. The Button ads would be 100x75 pixels and would sell for $50 - 75 per page per month. The front page would be higher in price. We could possibly hire a college student to sell a year's worth of ads for a commission. After some discussion it was decided that we would request monthly reports from PSCI to determine how many hits we were getting from were and we would also ask PSCI how much they sell their banner and buttons ads for before deciding to sell ads on our site.
Francie compiled new contact list of all board member's snail mail and e-mail addresses and distributed to everyone.
A Billboard will go up at 12th and Rueben Streets July 1st facing East. Another will be going up at the Patio going towards Cannelton on August 1st. Everyone agreed to give PSCI the OK to proceed.
Dale Sprinkle motioned to approve the purchase of 4000 two color business cards and 100 card holders for no more than $300.00. Randy seconded the motion.
No report on Front Page Software since John Spencer was absent.
No report on new flyer since Gary Palmer was absent.
Kathy reported she was adding church worship services schedules, and entertainment in Perry County to the CVB web site. There was discussion about additional content to our site. Kathy suggested more details on the calendar about every event in the county, possibly a local auction. Dick Haywood owns a quick cam and will allow Access Perry County to use it during Schweizer Fest to show the activities every few minutes. Francie will check with PSCI to see if it is possible. The camera could be mounted to Kathy Gerber's building and her computer and phone line could be used to send to PSCI.
Meeting adjourned at 9:00 pm
Submitted by Kathy Pohl Gerber, appointed secretary.Next meeting July 16, 1998, 7:00 pm, Tell City Junior High School.
