ACCESS PERRY COUNTY

Access Perry County Board Meeting
July 16, 1998, 7:00 PM
Sandy Henning's home

The meeting was called to order by President Francie Wagner and the agenda adopted. Present were:  Sandy Henning, Francie Wagner, Ron Filkins, Dick
Haywood, Kathy Gerber, and Judy Howe.

June minutes were amended by adding "local media" to the list of entities
in the By-Laws.  Kathy Gerber made a motion to approve the minutes as  amended and Dick Haywood seconded; motion carried.

Treasuer's report:  balance is $9370.12.  Dick Haywood made a motion to pay
a July claim to PSCI for $211.13; Kathy Gerber seconded; motion carried. Remaining balance will be $9158.99.

Gary Palmer has resigned from the board.  Troy Government will appoint a new representative.

The background on our website will be changed.  General information on the 4H Fair and Schweizer Fest will be repeated from last year, with changes  added in.  A Schweizer Fest WebCam project was discussed.  Software and  cables will be needed and PSCI will need to prepare a page for our site.  Kathy Gerber offered the use of her computer.  Dick Haywood made a motion to approve the development of the WebCam/Schweizer Fest feature for the APC  website.  Kathy Gerber seconded; motion carried.

The outdated flyers were discussed.  It was decided to use business cards instead.   We can purchase 4000 cards with 100 holders for $300. The sale of banner and button advertising for post-grant income was discussed.  It was decided not to pursue this option at this time.

Corporate sponsorship was suggested.  Ron Filkins will work on a plan. We need to know the number of hits.  Francie will receive monthly reports. Purchase of   Front Page software will be postponed pending changes at PSCI. Judy Howe will check hard drive space on library computers.  Changes will be kept on disk.

Perry County News articles on our site were discussed.  It was decided to   provide a link to the Perry County News.

The publisher of a history of Perry County by Michael Rutherford is seeking a local sponsor.  Local museums and the historical society have declined. Books will be advertised at a pre-publication price of $40.  There is a potential for substantial income for the sponsoring organization.  It was decided to look at samples and examine the contract before making a  decision.

There being no further business, the meeting was adjourned.
