I have a Glider from Tell City Chair company that is in need of a part. One of the rubber straps that holds the seat in place snapped (a particularly exasperating night trying to get my 18mo old to sleep!) and I need to replace it as this chair was borrowed from my SIL, who received this chair as a gift from her mother before she passed away. I'm looking for the hutch/cabinet top to accompany my mother's buffet. It's from the Tell City Maple Young Republic Group and is solid maple. Looking for one Tell City Chair. The pattern number is 4620. Finish is MAHOGANY no. 7, cover is 1 156, but not necessary for the cloth or cushion. It has written in large blue chalk 38. An arm chair would be good, but either arm or side chair would be fine. I inherited a mahogany Tell City Chair from my grandmother . The # is 596. It has a blue E circled on the underside with a 59 with a line under then a 301. On the rim on the underside it has 596M 27 in white. The chair was used as a desk chair. It has a greenish stripe with alternating cranberry color flowered velvet cushion. Located in the high desert of Southern California, I have purchase a four-piece living room set at a garage sale for my enclosed patio. The label reads #34 Danish Wal. - Pattern #5022 manufactured by Tell City Chair Company. The set consist of a Recliner (adjustable back bar), a Stationary Chair with Ottoman and a Couch. All have bottom and back cushions and in extremely good condition. Because of its condition, I am curious to the date it was manufactured. With my research, I am sad to learn the demise of Tell City Chair Company and will have to rely on local historians, retired employees, and connoisseurs of vintage furniture. My request goes out to anyone who can educate me on my nostalgic find.

The tag has begun to wear off but from what I can read the pattern # is 684 1/2 and finish NDOVER & GOLD I'm assuming it means Andover & Gold. It also has gold painting on the back and front of seat. I have a TC Platform rocker - don't know model - but it is early american in style. One of the pieces of hardware that connects the rocker to the platform (there are are four of them) broke. I have a seven piece bedroom set stamped Tell City Chair Co., Tell City Indiana, Solid Hard Rock Maple, Young Republic Group (Eagle w/stars around it). Set includes a double dresser w/mirror, chest of drawers (4 drawers), corner desk (single drawer); a single chest (3 drawer), a single piece (one drawer/'cabinet' door bottom), and twin head boards. Set was purchased in the early 1960's by my parents. Can anyone give me information about this Company and/or the value of this furniture? I am looking into selling the set.

The color is #14 Tanbark Oak. We have them for some time. We have not decided whether to sell the set however we need more room at our house. My wife has mixed feelings about giving it up. I recently inherited a Tell City dining room set. It includes 6 side chairs (pattern 4548, mahogany 27, cover 156) and a table in the style of Duncan Fife (Phyfe?) with metal caps on the legs. The table has three extension leaves. The table does not have any identifying tags, but I assume it is part of the original set. I recently bought a sewing rocker and was trying to find some info about it when I came across a couple of items on ebay that were identified as Tell City Roseback design. I can't find any identifying marks on my rocker, but the roseback design is the same. The back and seat have fabric cushions in a mustardy yellow with a small African-like print in black. The wood part of the rocker is fairly substatial and looks like rock maple to my untrained eye. Not delicate like many of the old sewing rockers out there. Does this sound familiar to any of you collectors out there? Any information you can provide would be appreciated.

I have a dining room set and the chairs say it is Tell City - Maghony 27, pattern 4848. The table has a stamp that says drexel. It also has a bevel glass china cabinet.

Just recently moved my grandmothers "Potomac Solid Cherry" 9 drawer dresser, Mirror, and 5 drawer chest or armoire into the house after giving away my childhood bedroom set. Grandma passed away just a short time ago at the age of 88 and I'm thrilled that I'll be able to keep the furniture I remember her having when I was just a small child. With 95 percent of the furniture I look at in Southern California thrift shops and specialty shops being made overseas (China, India, etc) it sure is a shame that the Tell City Chair Co. closed its doors!

Recently my mother came across 3 Tell City folding Chairs, pattern X 4548, the finish is the Walnut #30, and cover 210. If anyone has any knowledge regarding the date manufactered or where I could go to find such information it would be greatly appreciated. They are sort of priceless to us but an appraisal of value would be nice also.
